WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
“Queer Town’s workshop was one of the most valuable and important workshops I’ve ever attended, personally and as an HR director.
- Executive Director People & Culture,
The Outdoor Education Group
“Queer Towns’ trainers broke down so many walls with their authenticity, knowledge and humour.
I now feel far more confident to engage in areas
I tended to shy away from."
- Teacher, St Leonard's College
This interactive workshop is perfect as an introductory session or a refresher for groups looking to better understand and support members of the LGBTIQA+ communities.
Through a combination of group activities and discussions, participants become familiar with LGBTIQA+ terminology, build empathy for the lived experiences of LGBTIQA+ people and learn practical ways to become stronger allies.
In this workshop participants explore the full gender spectrum and gain a better understanding of the language and experiences surrounding the trans and gender diverse (TGD) community.
From using gender pronouns to supporting individuals through gender affirmations, this session uses a combination of research and personal storytelling to help participants deepen their understanding, build empathy and learn practical ways to be allies.
This workshop is designed for teams and workplaces striving to create an inclusive culture and safe environment for LGBTIQA+ staff and clients.
After exploring LGBTIQA+ terminology and research, participants have the opportunity to reflect on their own roles and workspaces through interactive activities and facilitated discussions.
Our trainers work closely with participants to find practical ways in which they can update various processes and policies to make them even more inclusive.
This workshop is ideal for teachers, parents and carers wanting to create safe spaces for young LGBTIQA+ people at school and at home.
The session is highly interactive and combines information sharing with storytelling, group discussions, activities and personal reflection.
Participants leave the session with a deeper understanding of language and terminology as well as practical strategies for being even better allies to LGBTIQA+ young people.
